Race Report – 26 November Upper Manaia Kemesse
It was a perfect evening for a bike race, warm with a light southerly that faded to nothing as the racing progressed
There were only twenty riders who fronted up to the start line. These were divided into four groups with two minutes between each on the start line. The Upper Manaia course is barely 7 kilometres long with the only undulation on Westbush road as the riders head up to the left hand turn back into Manaia road. It’s a fast circuit with riders having to work hard on their sprints to win points across the line
The A and C grades finished with closely contested bunch sprints whilst the B grade trailed behind Mark Halewood who demonstrated a convincing sprint to close out the finish
Well done to the first place winners and to all the riders who turned out to race
